IPTV on Xbox and PlayStation: What Actually Works
Game consoles are already plugged into the big TV, so it makes sense to watch IPTV on them. Xbox can do it properly with Kodi. PlayStation is harder — here is why, and what to do instead.
Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S: Use Kodi
Kodi is available as an official app in the Microsoft Store on Xbox, and its official PVR IPTV Simple Client add-on turns your IPTV playlist into a Live TV section with a TV guide.
- On the Xbox, open the Microsoft Store, search for Kodi and install it.
- Open Kodi, click the gear icon and go to Add-ons > Install from repository > PVR clients.
- Install PVR IPTV Simple Client and open Configure.
- Set the M3U location to Remote path and paste your M3U playlist URL; in the EPG section paste your XMLTV URL.
- Restart Kodi. TV now appears in the main menu.
You need the M3U and EPG links of your account rather than Xtream Codes details — ask support and we will send them. Typing long links with a controller is slow: a USB keyboard plugged into the Xbox makes it much easier.
Tips for IPTV on Xbox
- Use a cable. Xbox consoles have an Ethernet port — it is steadier than Wi-Fi for live sports.
- Channel groups. Pick a group in Kodi's TV menu instead of scrolling every channel.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5: No Real IPTV Player
The PlayStation Store has no Kodi and no general IPTV player, and the console does not allow apps from outside the store. The web browser is too limited for live IPTV streams. In practice, that leaves two options:
Option 1: Plex with a media server (advanced)
Plex has an official PlayStation app. If you run a Plex server at home with Live TV set up, the channels appear on the PlayStation too. It needs a Plex Pass and a tuner bridge on the server — see IPTV on Plex, Emby and Jellyfin.
Option 2: A streaming stick next to the console (simple)
Plug a Firestick or Chromecast with Google TV into a free HDMI port on the same TV. You get the full IPTV apps, a proper guide and a remote, and the console stays free for games.
