IPTV EPG and TV Guide Not Loading? How to Fix It

The EPG (Electronic Program Guide) is the TV schedule inside your IPTV app. When it shows "No information" or the wrong times, one of four fixes below sorts it out.

How the TV Guide Works

Your channels and your TV guide come from two different sources. The channels stream live from the server; the guide is a separate schedule file (called XMLTV) that the app downloads and matches to each channel. That is why channels can play perfectly while the guide is empty: the schedule simply has not been downloaded or matched yet.

With Xtream Codes login

Apps such as IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate download the guide automatically when you log in with Xtream Codes. The first download can take a few minutes on large channel lists.

With an M3U playlist

An M3U link contains channels only. Apps that use it — Kodi, VLC, Smart TV players — need a separate EPG (XMLTV) URL. If your app asks for one, ask support for the guide link that matches your account.

Fix 1: The Guide Says "No Information"

  1. Wait a few minutes after your first login — the download runs in the background.
  2. Refresh the guide: in IPTV Smarters use the EPG / refresh option on the home screen; in TiviMate open Settings > EPG and update the EPG source.
  3. Restart the app after the refresh.
  4. Still empty? Delete the profile and log in again with Xtream Codes rather than an M3U link.

Fix 2: The Times Are Wrong

If every programme is one or more hours early or late, the guide is being shown in a different time zone from yours — common for viewers watching channels from another country. Look for EPG time shift or time zone in the app settings and move the guide by the number of hours it is off. In TiviMate the option is under Settings > EPG.

Also check that your device's own date, time and time zone are set correctly.

Fix 3: Some Channels Never Show a Guide

Not every channel publishes a schedule. 24/7 channels that loop one show, pay-per-view event channels and some international channels often have no guide data at all — that is normal and does not mean anything is broken. If a major channel in your country has no guide while others do, tell support its name.

Fix 4: Catch-Up Does Not Appear

Catch-up lets you watch programmes that already aired, straight from the guide. It only works on channels that support it — those are marked with a catch-up or archive icon in the app — and needs the guide to be loaded first. Fix the guide with the steps above, then open a past programme on a marked channel.

Find a Programme Faster

  • Add the channels you watch every week to Favorites so they sit at the top of the guide.
  • Use the app's search to find a show or team by name.
  • For live sports, the guide is the quickest way to find kick-off times — see our sports guide.
