IPTV Not Working? Fixes by Symptom
Find what you see on your screen below and follow the fix for it. Most problems take less than five minutes to solve without contacting anyone.
Before Anything Else: the 60-Second Reset
- Close the IPTV app completely and open it again.
- Restart the TV, stick or box — unplug it for 30 seconds.
- Check that other apps (YouTube, Netflix) load on the same device.
- Turn off any VPN.

Find Your Symptom
The app says "Authorization failed" or "Failed to authorize"
The server refused your login. The cause is almost always a typo in the details, an expired account, the login being open on another device, or a VPN. Follow the eight checks in our failed to authorize guide.
You log in, but no channels appear
- Refresh or reload the playlist in the app, then restart it.
- Check that you used Xtream Codes login with the server URL, username and password — not a partial M3U link.
- Look for hidden categories or a parental-control lock in the app settings.
- Very large M3U playlists can time out on older Smart TVs; Xtream Codes login loads them in parts and works better.
A black screen, or a channel that never starts
- Try three or four other channels. If none play, the problem is your connection or the app; if only one fails, see the next symptom.
- Switch the player: in IPTV Smarters, choose another built-in player or an external one such as VLC.
- Toggle between hardware and software decoding in the app settings.
- Restart the device — a black screen with sound often means the video decoder is stuck.
Only one channel is down
Individual streams sometimes go offline for a few minutes, and some channels only broadcast at certain times. Try again a little later. If the channel stays down for more than an hour, tell support its name and we will check it.
The app crashes or freezes on the home screen
- Clear the app cache (Android and Firestick: Settings > Applications > the app > Clear cache).
- Update the app, or uninstall and reinstall it.
- Free up storage on the device.
- On older Smart TVs, the built-in apps run out of memory with big channel lists — a Firestick or Android box is the lasting fix.
"Account expired" or "Your subscription has ended"
Check the expiry date in your activation message. If you have just renewed, wait five minutes for the account to update, then delete and re-add the profile in the app. To renew, see the packages.
It worked yesterday and stopped today
- Restart the router and the device.
- Turn off any VPN that was switched on or updated recently.
- Change the DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 — a failing DNS at your internet provider stops the app finding the server.
- Ask support whether your server URL has changed.
It plays, but keeps stopping to load
That is buffering, not a broken service. Our buffering guide shows how to find the cause in five minutes and fix it.
The TV guide is empty or shows the wrong times
Live channels play but the guide shows "No information", or programmes are an hour off. See EPG and TV guide fixes.
