Smart IPTV, SmartOne, SS IPTV and SET IPTV: Smart TV Players Compared
Samsung, LG and other Smart TVs cannot install Android apps, so they use their own IPTV players. Four names come up again and again — Smart IPTV, SmartOne IPTV, SS IPTV and SET IPTV. They all work the same basic way; here is how, and what sets each one apart.
How These Smart TV Players Work
- Install the app from your TV's app store.
- Open it and note the MAC address (or device ID) shown on the screen.
- On a phone or computer, open the app's website and enter that MAC address with your playlist link.
- Restart the app on the TV — your channels appear.
None of them include channels: they are players, and the channels come from your IPTV subscription. Most take an M3U playlist link; some also accept Xtream Codes details, which load the TV guide by themselves.
The Four Apps Side by Side
| App | Runs on | Playlist | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smart IPTV | Samsung, LG, Fire TV | Website + MAC | One-time, per TV |
| SmartOne | Most TV brands, Fire TV | M3U or Xtream | Paid |
| SS IPTV | LG and others | Website editor | See its site |
| SET IPTV | Samsung, LG | Website + MAC | Trial, then one-time |
Prices and terms change, so confirm them on each app's official website before you pay.
Each App in a Few Lines
Smart IPTV
One of the oldest Smart TV players. Its makers describe it simply as a media player: after a one-time activation for each TV (5.49 EUR at the time of writing), you upload your playlist on its website using the TV's MAC address. Newer versions need a recent Samsung or LG model.
SmartOne IPTV
Works on the widest range of TV brands, including Hisense and other VIDAA, Foxxum and Vestel TVs, as well as Android TV and Fire TV. It accepts both M3U playlists and Xtream Codes logins.
SS IPTV
Simple Smart IPTV became known as an early favourite on LG Smart TVs. You load your own playlist through the playlist editor on its website.
SET IPTV
A MAC-based player for Samsung and LG. You paste your M3U link on its website together with the MAC address, restart the TV and the channels load. The activation stays with that TV.
Which One Should You Choose?
- You want the TV guide to load by itself: pick an app that takes Xtream Codes, such as SmartOne IPTV.
- You have a Hisense, Panasonic or TCL TV: SmartOne IPTV supports the most brands.
- You only want a simple M3U player on Samsung or LG: Smart IPTV or SET IPTV.
- You want the smoothest experience overall: a Firestick running IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate is usually faster than any app on an older TV.
Other Smart TV players such as IPTV Smarters Pro, HOT IPTV and IBO Player are covered in the Smart TV setup guide.
Common Problems
- "No playlist" after uploading: restart the app completely, and check the MAC address was typed exactly as shown.
- Channels load but the guide is empty: add the EPG (XMLTV) link, or use Xtream Codes if the app supports it — see EPG fixes.
- Picture freezes: older TVs have slow processors; try the HD version of a channel or a stick — see buffering fixes.
- The app stopped after a TV reset: the MAC address is the same, so upload the playlist again on the app's website.
Questions People Ask
Do Smart IPTV or SmartOne come with channels?
No. Both are players only. The channels come from an IPTV subscription, such as a BangosPlay trial.
Is there a free trial of Smart IPTV?
Check the app's own website for its current terms — they set the trial and the activation price, not your IPTV provider.
Can I move my activation to another TV?
Usually not: these activations are tied to the TV's MAC address, so a new TV needs a new activation.
